Weather plays an important and key role in fishing Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Weather patterns change often and can occur so rapidly that one minute fishing is GREAT and the next minute you find yourself SOL.

Current Overall Weather Conditions
Updated:
March 17, 2008
Spring is only right around the corner and we're heading into the transition
leading to ice out. Daytime temps are beginning to reach above freezing,
snow is melting and there's moisture everywhere.
Weather Outlook?
Warming trends having mild air temps and April showers will trigger the early 2008 fishing season. One thing for certain, there's plenty
of water to go around. Soon, river tributaries will unleash a powerful flow of spring run off and ignite river mouths to Lake Superior, Lake Michigan
and Lake Huron.
It'll all start with smelt running up the rivers anywhere from the 2nd week of April till the end of the month.
After that it'll be hit the big lakes at river mouths and deep water haunts in
our inland lakes for pan fish. Weather seems to be cooperating so far.
We'll keep you posted.
