Tying Fishing Knots

Anna River Monising Bay, Munising Michigan USA
Not only is it essential to have sturdy and dependable monofilament fishing line, it's equally important to make sure that your fishing line knots are properly and securely tied.

Here, I'll do my best to provide you with some line tying basics that'll help you achieve the ultimate knot for the right occasion.  There's just about nothing worse than making a mad dash effort reeling up a big game-fish, only to encounter it quickly disappearing back to its depths and finding the end of your line knot frayed, unraveled and void of hook or lure presentation.  There goes five smacks down the drain- and a trophy fish that'll become a fish story.

Clinch Knot
This is highly recommended as an excellent knot for both flies and bait hooks, and is easily and quickly tied.

Double Eye Knot
The "Double Eye" knot has been used for by anglers for many years and is extremely dependable and one of the most satisfactorily used knots used to this day. Considered an excellent bait-hook knot.
